I am so excited to tell you about my new project: Looking Glass Tutus!
I have been making a lot of tutu dresses lately for friends, family, birthday parties, gifts, and have decided to turn it into my primary business! I love making them and I’ve received such a positive response from the kids (and parents, grandparents, friends, and people I don’t even know!) that I’ve decided to open an online store to sell the tutu dresses, kid tutus, and adult tutus. Please check it out online at lookingglasstutus.com, the basics are up now, but the official store will open around August 15th.
I love it when I have the opportunity to throw a party with a theme that I’ve been thinking about for years, but have never had the right excuse to do it. Well, a few weeks ago I finally got the opportunity to throw an Alice in Wonderland Party and it was AMAZING! If I do say so myself.

Game of Thrones! The drama, the secrets, the lies, the betrayal, and the loss of so many favorite characters! I threw a Game of Thrones Season Premiere Viewing Party, but you can do this for any episode and it would be perfect for the season finale! In this podcast I talk about decorations, food and tablescape, making a cake in the shape of Winterfell, and a chest with Daenerys’ Dragon Eggs.

I have been wanting to doing a superhero party for a while and with the new Avengers movie out, it was the perfect time! This party was so much fun, I love the bright colors, the kids (and adults) loved the games, masks, and capes, and I loved how the cake turned out! In this podcast I’ll cover how-to’s for the masks, capes, cake, comic popcorn cones, Hulk smash wall, Hawkeye bad guy target shoot, and lots of food and decorating ideas.
Star Wars mania is here again! I was one of the lucky ones who saw the original on the big screen in ’77 and I’ve been a fan ever since. So now that The Force Awakens is out, it was the perfect time to throw a Star Wars Party!
I have been looking forward to doing a Star Wars party for a very long time and now that The Force Awakens is out on DVD and Star Wars mania is here again, I thought this was the perfect time! Plus, as many of you know, May the Fourth (ya know, like May the Force …) is Star Wars Day, so it’s a win all the way around!
With the beginning of Spring I have the sea coast on my mind, so I decided to make a coastal-themed wreath for my door and a few coastal-themed candle holders for the table. Both projects are quick and easy and can be made with materials from the craft store. No need to live near the water for this one!
Who doesn’t love a good 80’s party! I’m mean, the 80’s were like so totally awesome, ya know?! The music, the hair, the clothes, the shoulder pads, the movies, the horrendous home decor of sticks in a vase, black lacquer with pastels, and Nagel prints (wow, I just described my bedroom from 1986), and the ever present danger of nuclear war … good times.
